Terms of Use

These terms form the End-User License Agreement (EULA) between you and us for the ShotShoot application. Please read them before installing or using the app.

Last updated: October 21, 2026

Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Dzianis Yatsevich ("we", "us"). By installing, activating or using ShotShoot you accept them. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.

If you obtained ShotShoot from Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store, the store's terms also apply. Where they conflict with these terms regarding the store, the store's terms prevail.

License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use ShotShoot on computers you own or control. One license key may be active on 1 device at a time. You may transfer a key to a new device; the previous device is then deactivated.

The software is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you.

Trial

A trial license lasts 15 days from its first activation, unless a different period is stated when it is issued. When the trial ends, capture features stop working until you activate a paid license. Your existing files remain on your computer.

Activation, internet connection and statistics

Activation requires an internet connection. After activation the app works offline for up to 48 hours and then needs a short connection to renew its permission. The app sends limited usage statistics as described in our Privacy Policy; this is a condition of the license.

Purchases and refunds

Purchases made in Microsoft Store or the Mac App Store are processed by Microsoft or Apple. Refunds follow the refund policy of that store; please request them there.

If we sell licenses directly, the price, term and refund conditions are shown before purchase. Statutory consumer rights, including any right of withdrawal, are not affected.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • circumvent, disable or tamper with license checks or technical protection;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app, except where the law expressly allows it;
  • rent, sell, sublicense or distribute license keys or the app without our permission;
  • use the app to capture or record content or people in violation of the law or of others' rights, including privacy, confidentiality and copyright.

Your content

Screenshots and recordings you create belong to you (or to the rights holders of what you capture). We do not receive them. You are responsible for having the right to capture, record and share them, including obtaining consent where the law requires it before recording other people's voices or screens.

Third-party and open-source components

ShotShoot includes open-source components that are licensed under their own terms, listed on the Open-source notices page. Nothing in these terms restricts your rights under those licenses.

Updates

We may release updates that fix errors, improve security or change features. Updates may be delivered through the store. Some features may require the latest version.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, ShotShoot is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free or that every window or protected content can be captured.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business. Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for the license in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent, gross negligence or death and personal injury, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Termination

The license ends automatically if you materially breach these terms, and we may then revoke your key. You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. Sections on your content, warranties, liability and governing law survive termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Cyprus, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

Additional terms for the Mac App Store

If you obtained ShotShoot from the Mac App Store:

  • These terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your license is limited to use on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules of the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • If a third party claims that the app infringes its intellectual property rights, we, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.
  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
